Lifting thought higher

Jesus taught his followers to lift thought to a higher level than that of the world. His words in the book of John reveal this:

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

And he said unto them,
Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

(John 8:12, 15, 23)

Sometimes it seems hard to get up out of the dumps—the world’s perception of reality and what seems to be our place in it. But Christ Jesus’ tender teachings, explained in Christian Science, allow us to see our spiritual nature, far beyond the worldly beliefs that would try to hold us down. We can rise up, as certainly as the morning follows the night!
