Escape to freedom
“Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage”
From “Bullet with Butterfly Wings”, by the Smashing Pumpkins
“Far from Folsom Prison, that's where I want to stay”
From “Folsom Prison Blues”, by Johnny Cash
“Caged without a key, Everyone comes to stare at me”
From “Caged Bird”, by Alicia Keys
The theme reaches across more than just music. Cinema, literature, and art all frequently hit on this theme of being caged, imprisoned, trapped, captive, or oppressed. Most of us experience such a theme in very personal terms. How do we escape? How do we find freedom?
Our readings this Wednesday evening, Feb. 19, from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, will give practical examples of how to gain our freedom. These will be followed by testimonies from attendees on finding freedom.
Please join in person or by Zoom at 7:30PM Central time. In person at Brookdale, 60 Nicoll Avenue in Glen Ellyn; or join in with Zoom.
