What are our politics?

Can a church function without involvement in politics? Can a community, or family, maintain peace and harmony in what seems to be a national environment of vicious partisanship?

Our church follows the lead of its founder—the discoverer of Christian Science—Mary Baker Eddy. She replied this way to an interviewer:

I am asked, ‘What are your politics’. I have none, in reality, other than to help support a righteous government; to love God supremely, and my neighbor as myself. (From The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 276:23)

The readings and hymns for our Wednesday testimony meeting on October 2nd will cover how we can “support a righteous government”, love God with the utmost confidence, and love our neighbors as ourselves.

Following the readings, we will have lively thoughts and testimonies of healing shared by those in person at Brookdale as well as those joining us by Zoom. We hope to see you this Wednesday at 7:30 pm (Central).
