Attuned to harmony

If you or someone you love is seeking mental stability and happiness, these qualities can be found by attuning thought to the spiritual harmony of God. You may have heard the reports of a “mental health crisis” these days, especially among youth. Many say it’s due to things like violence in society, climate change, natural disasters, self-image and political angst—all spread rapidly by social media. So, how shall we meet the need for calm confidence and optimism in society?

Tonight’s Wednesday Testimony Meeting at First Church of Christ, Scientist in Glen Ellyn, IL will provide readings on attuning to the harmony of God—infinite Love. We can learn to tune-in to our divine Principle, God, which governs all existence.

Below are four quotes from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, which will be part of tonight’s readings:

It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony.

Human belief has sought and interpreted in its own way the echo of Spirit, and so seems to have reversed it and repeated it materially; but the human mind never produced a real tone nor sent forth a positive sound.

Mind produces all action. If the action proceeds from Truth, from immortal Mind, there is harmony; but mortal mind is liable to any phase of belief.

Harmony in man is as real and immortal as in music. Discord is unreal and mortal.

We would love to have you join us in person at Brookdale of Glen Ellyn, located at 60 Nicoll Way, just north of Roosevelt Road and Aldie’s grocery store. You can also find us on Zoom. The meeting begins at 7:30 pm (Central) July 24th.
