Psalm 23 - Prayer of Comfort

My little lamb

With all the constant Coronavirus news on TV daily, I started to manifest itching traveling to different parts of my body and soreness in my mouth and on my tongue – all error!

As I lay in bed trying to sleep last night, I contemplated my favorite prayer of comfort – the 23rd Psalm. I took each sentence and expanded my prayer to what the 23rd Psalm means to me.

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want" (I am secure knowing God is with me and I have all that I need.)

"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures" (God is my peace and comfort.)

"He leadeth me beside the still waters." (This helped me the most. I needed to be still, rejecting all disturbing thoughts and replacing them with relaxed, free, and hopeful thoughts. Knowing God will give me rest and will restore me. My whole body responded immediately with healing.)

"He restoreth my soul" (Be still and confident.)

"He leadeth me in the paths of paths of righteousness for his name's sake" (Daily direction.)

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." (Stop absorbing fearful news.)

"For thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." (God comforts me.)

"Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies" (God goes before me.)

"Thou annointest my head with oil" (Joy!)

"My cup runneth over." (Fullness, gratitude.)

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life" (Proof of God's care.)

"And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Powerful promise.)
