The Meaning of Christmas

In an article on the significance of Christmas published in the New York World, Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, said:

In Christian Science, Christmas stands for the real, the absolute and eternal, – for the things of Spirit, not of matter.

In our church services we commemorate the coming of the Christ with Bible lessons that add spiritual dimension and understanding to the birth of Jesus. Anyone looking for a deeper meaning or the spiritual significance of Christmas will find much food for thought on these Sundays: December 22 and 29.

Our Glen Ellyn Christian Science church service begins at 10 am and is open to everyone. Acquainting your thought with the true meaning of Christmas will prepare you to receive the angel messages you need – like the shepherds of old – and bring the timeless healing Christ into your life.

You are also invited to our Wednesday evening testimony meetings which begin each week at 7:30 pm.
